Mesomycetozoea in Crayfish
This is a special group of parasites commonly known as the "DRIP" clade. DRIP is an acronym for the 4 groups within the clade including Dermocystida, Rhinosporidium, Ichthyophonida, and Psorospermium which are all closely related to animals and fungi. While in Northern Michigan, my parasitology students and I collected invertebrates in local streams for their semester projects.
